Who runs this study?

This study is part of the Program in Developmental Endocrinology at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Deborah P. Merke, a pediatric endocrinologist, is the Principal Investigator of the study.

Carol Van Ryzin, CPNP is a nurse practitioner who is an Associate Investigator and coordinator of the study.

What is this study about?

The purpose of this study is to gather information in a large group of patients with genetic causes of androgen excess in order to allow us to better understand the effects of excess androgen and to better describe problems associated with specific androgen excess syndromes, such as CAH. This study may also help us to find ways to prevent or treat the complications of androgen excess.

What kind of commitment is involved?

This study involves coming to the National Institutes of Health Clinical Research Center in Bethesda Maryland for 1-4 visits.
